The Christmas card tradition has come a bit out of fashion. We should occasionally exercise it - if for no other reason than to keep the postal services busy. We might need them some day ... .

In 2025 I managed to send a few cards out again. Apologies if your card arrived a bit late. That's probably why you are reading this.

Next year, Christmas cards might be in digital format. To be on the mailing list, just send an e-mail using the above link, i.e. by clicking on the "envelope" icon. Your mail client should open on your device, and a subject line and e-mail text should already be inserted, automatically. All you need to do is tap or click "Send" ... and you can just add or change any text you like.

Alternatively, you may wish to simply visit this page again in the coming Christmas season. The QR code link on the paper Christmas card you received will remain the same, and will always link to this page. The current Christmas letter (PDF) will be accessible from this page, also including any archived versions of previous years.

Postal addresses and phone numbers might change. I'll make an effort to keep this page updated so staying in touch for Christmas by digital means is always a viable option.

This is a "VoIP" (Voice over Internet Protocol) phone number. It rings on my desk on a real telephone, and sometimes also on my cell phone through an app called "3CX".

The caller incurs regular long distance charges to Virginia. If I call back it will be even cheaper for me (VoIP rates). On VoIP I pay for inbound and outbound calls alike.

To dial direct from your smartphone, Tap the "phone" icon, then tap the revealed "Click-2-Dial" button to reveal the phone number, than tap the phone number itself to dial direct from your smartphone.

Both e-mail address and phone number on this Christmas micro-site are rendered and embedded in a way that generally prevents website data scrapers from harvesting them.

I'll be thinking about embedding a WhatsApp and/or Telegram link for next year.
